The Founder & Executive Director of Fundación Thrive

Daris Fuentes is the founder and Executive Director of Fundación Thrive. Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Daris believed that she had a purpose to help others. Guided by her faith in God, in November 2011, she made the life-altering choice to move from the bustling streets of Havana to the United States, driven by a deep-seated desire for personal growth and opportunity. 

Armed with a degree in Accounting from her homeland, Daris arrived in the U.S. to find that her qualifications weren't recognized. Undeterred, she worked cleaning offices for two years, refusing to let this setback define her.

Driven by a determination to forge her path, Daris decided to return to college. She pursued an Associate Degree in Business Administration, followed by a Bachelor's in Accounting, determined to rewrite her story and create a future filled with purpose. Her journey led her to the fast-paced world of eCommerce, where she spent seven years honing her skills. Determined to work in a field that better aligned with her accounting degree she was able to make the career change to an accountant for various industries.

In 2019, Daris took a leap of faith and opened her own Accounting Firm. She has helped over 70 clients establish their businesses, offering guidance on accounting, taxes, and financial decisions. Although successful, she wanted to better help those in the Hispanic community reach their own career goals and inspire entrepreneurship. She founded Fundacion Thrive to uplift and empower her community, providing support for Hispanic individuals to thrive in their new homes.

Her journey exemplifies God's grace and the strength of resilience, perseverance, and unwavering self-belief. Daris sees Fundacion Thrive as both her calling and a powerful tool to support and uplift those seeking a better future.
